Why I'm Excited to Tell Customers About Our Jewelry Repair Services

One of the questions I hear all the time from customers is, "Can you repair this for me?" Sometimes it's a ring that's been in the family for generations. Other times it's a bracelet with a broken clasp or a necklace that snapped unexpectedly.

For years, that wasn't always an easy conversation for us to have.

Most people know Steven Singer Jewelers for engagement rings, diamonds, and the famous "I Hate Steven Singer" slogan. What many don't realize is that our jewelers have always been incredibly busy behind the scenes, creating custom pieces, setting diamonds, and maintaining the jewelry that was purchased at our store. With so much happening in our workshops, we simply didn't have the capacity to take on every repair request that came through our doors.

Today, that's a completely different story—and it's one of the things I'm most excited to share with customers.

We Have More Space and More Experts Than Ever

That means when customers bring in jewelry for repair, we have the bench jewelers, diamond setters, polishers, and support staff needed to handle a much wider range of projects.

And here's the best part: it doesn't matter whether you purchased the piece from us or somewhere else. If it's important to you, we want to help you keep it beautiful and wearable.

You Can Actually Watch the Work Being Done

Honestly, I understand that.

Jewelry is personal. It represents memories, milestones, and people we love. Handing it over for repair requires trust.

That's why one of my favorite features of our stores is the glass-walled workshop. Instead of hiding our jewelers behind closed doors, we've made the process visible. Customers can see our craftsmen at work and watch repairs happening in real time.

There's no mystery about where your jewelry goes or who's working on it. That transparency gives people peace of mind, and it's something you don't see everywhere.

A True One-Stop Repair Destination

A ring being professionally polished.Another advantage we can offer customers is the ability to handle many repairs on-site. Rather than sending jewelry elsewhere and waiting weeks for updates, our team can often complete work under the same roof where you dropped it off.

Some of the most common services we provide include:

- Prong tightening and re-tipping to help secure diamonds and gemstones.
- Ring sizing for a more comfortable and accurate fit.
- Chain and clasp repairs for necklaces and bracelets.
- Stone resetting and remounting when gemstones become loose or when customers want to update an existing piece.
- Professional polishing and finishing to restore shine and bring jewelry back to life.

Whether a repair is simple or more complex, our goal is always the same: make sure your jewelry is secure, beautiful, and ready to be worn again.

Do I Need An Appointment?

No, appointments are not required, and walk-ins are always welcome at both of our locations. If you have a ring that needs sizing, a loose stone, a broken chain, or any other jewelry concern, you're welcome to stop by whenever it's convenient for you.

That said, scheduling an appointment can be helpful if you're hoping to have your repair evaluated and completed as quickly as possible. While we handle many repairs on-site and can often provide same-day service, an appointment allows our team to plan ahead and make sure the right jeweler is available to evaluate your piece right away. It can also increase the likelihood that your repair can be completed the very same day.
