Why is Steven Singer Jewelers located at "the OTHER Corner of 8th and Walnut"?

You may have heard it on the radio or seen a billboard that Steven Singer Jewelers is located at "the OTHER Corner of 8th and Walnut" in Philadelphia. Ever wonder why? Well here it is!

Wait what? The OTHER corner? Yes, you heard right! It’s the OTHER Corner of 8th and Walnut!
Steven Singer Jewelers opened its doors on Philadelphia's Jewelers Row in 1980. Our first showroom was a tight squeeze at only 8x18 feet, but luckily, over the years, Steven's business expanded and he was able to move and upgrade the showroom several times while still staying in the heart of Jeweler's Row. Eventually, Steven settled at our 739 Walnut Street location, right at the corner of 8th and Walnut.

There was a time when another jeweler across the street claimed the corner of 8th and Walnut was theirs. Well, Steven, being the clever marketer he is, decided to claim the title of "the other corner of 8th and Walnut" for his store. This catchy phrase stuck and has become synonymous with Steven Singer Jewelers, even though the other jewelry store that was on the corner is long gone.

We’ve proudly called 739 Walnut Street home since 1999, and we're not going anywhere. So, next time you're on Jewelers Row, look for the "other corner" – that's us!
